Shelby and Gabe were married at the ever-so-popular Grand Plaza Resort on St. Pete Beach. This is now our third time there this year, so there is definitely some familiarity for us. Â It’s a beautiful property, so it’s no wonder why so many people from all over the world choose to get married there.
Since the wedding took place in July, the weather is probably the #1 obstacle. Â First of all, you have to worry about the afternoon thunderstorms, which seem to happen on a daily basis. Â Luckily, we were able to avoid the rain on their big day:) Â Second, the heat and humidity is really hard for a lot of people to handle. I’ve become pretty accustomed to it, but that’s not always the case for many of our couples. We’ve had several wedding just this year that have had to move the shoot indoors due to the heat. However, Shelby and Gabe toughed out the weather! They did such a great job, that you really can’t tell how hot it really was (and it was REALLY hot!).
Once we got to the reception, we all got to enjoy the A/C. After their first dance, they had some really great and emotional parent dances. Shelby had a dance with her dad, as well as a dance with her mom. There were lots of tears – not only for the couple and their parents, but for many of the guests in attendance. After all the formal festivities were done, they danced the night away to some great music.
